Škoda recently released official car accessories and model files. After looking into it, I realized that a ton of major brands have actually been doing this for a while[cite: 12]!
Philips, IKEA, Logitech, Cooler Master, Festool, Noctua, Framework... From cars, smartphones, and computers to power tools, more and more brands are directly uploading design files online, letting consumers download and print them at home[cite: 12].
Some are custom accessories, some are repair parts, and even product casing CAD files have been made public[cite: 12].
For manufacturers, this means they don't need to open molds and stock inventory for every single low-volume part; for consumers, broken items don't necessarily have to be replaced as a whole[cite: 12].
For us running 3D printing service businesses, could this be a whole new market[cite: 12]?
Below is a curated list of official print files and download links released by major brands. Feel free to check them out and play around[cite: 12]!
If you don't have a 3D printer, you can always hire me to print them for youaaaa[cite: 12]! https://www.facebook.com/CapybaraFantasy
(Some models are restricted to non-commercial use, so authorization must still be verified before printing on behalf of others[cite: 12].)
As of October 27, 2026, the Printables Official Brand Section alone lists 53 brands and organizations, covering automotive, consumer electronics, power tools, home appliances, gaming, medical aids, and other fields[cite: 12].
I have organized them into a direct-click download list, and additionally found some brands that do not publish their files on Printables[cite: 12].
First clarification: Official free files do not automatically mean they can be used directly for commercial contract printing[cite: 12]. Some offer practical utility parts, while others are just decorative models; some official accounts also feature community works, so licensing must be judged on an individual model page basis[cite: 12].

Currently, Škoda is the only brand under Printables' official Automotive category, with 32 models published[cite: 12]. There are many car-related models by other brands, but that doesn't mean they were released by the automotive manufacturers themselves[cite: 12].

For this category, I especially recommend looking into Philips, Cooler Master, Framework, Noctua, Logitech, and CMF by Nothing. The content they provide is directly relevant to their existing products, making it much more industrially meaningful than simply making a branded keychain[cite: 12].

These models involve contact with the human body, stress-bearing, or medical purposes, and cannot be treated as safety-certified products simply because the files are public[cite: 12].
VI. Official Files Available on Other Platforms
These were not counted among the 53 brands on Printables mentioned earlier[cite: 12].
IKEA (ThisAbles Collaboration Project)
Provides free printing files for assistive handles, sofa height-increasing accessories, and more for IKEA furniture, developed jointly by IKEA Israel with public welfare and assistive tech teams[cite: 12].
Valve — Steam Deck
Officially released Steam Deck enclosure CAD files, including STL, STEP, and other reference materials for players to design modification accessories. Note that this does not equal fully printable replacement shells[cite: 12].
Fairphone — Fairphone 2
The original manufacturer's GitHub published Fairphone 2 protective back cover and casing STEP design files, allowing users to modify and manufacture their own. Belongs to earlier open-source examples[cite: 12].
Publishes brand gadgets, tools, and electronic kit enclosures for printing. MakerWorld also hosts a massive amount of third-party work, so you must verify whether the author is Bambu Lab[cite: 12].
VII. Which Brands Are Most Worth Tracking Continuously?
From the perspective of a 3D printing studio and service bureau, my view is as follows[cite: 12]:
|
Direction |
Brands Worth Tracking |
Industry Opportunities |
|---|---|---|
|
Repair Parts |
Philips, iFixit, Framework[cite: 12] |
Small-batch repairs, product life extension[cite: 12] |
|
Tool Accessories |
Festool, Würth, FLEX[cite: 12] |
Studio tool customization, organization[cite: 12] |
|
3C Customization |
Cooler Master, CMF, Logitech[cite: 12] |
Cases, grips, personalized accessories[cite: 12] |
|
Home Appliances & Living |
Miele, IKEA[cite: 12] |
Discontinued parts, custom assistive devices[cite: 12] |
|
Automotive Accessories |
Škoda[cite: 12] |
Vehicle-specific storage and low-volume accessories[cite: 12] |
My observation is: What's most noteworthy isn't how many models a brand opens up, but whether they have integrated 3D printing as part of their after-sales service[cite: 12].
In particular, Philips' Fixables, Festool's tool accessories, and Framework's open-source hardware design have already provided a very concrete direction[cite: 12].
There is also a practical issue for contract manufacturers: while original brands publish design files and consumers can print them themselves, not everyone has the capability to handle equipment, materials, dimension verification, and post-processing, which still generates outsourced manufacturing demand—provided the proper licensing for the intended use is obtained[cite: 12].
Judging from the cases found so far, "brands publishing design files and localized manufacturing by consumers" already has cross-industry examples, making it a long-term 3D printing market trend worth tracking[cite: 12].
Additionally, this list is a curated directory of verified brands and organizations, and is not a complete statistical count of all brands globally that publish files[cite: 12].
